Back the Attack – Soldier and Parachutes

A soldier with a helmet and firearm dominates the foreground, while numerous parachutes fill the grey sky. A large parachute at the top left and a small aeroplane enhance the depth of the image. The slanted red text ‘Back the Attack!’ gives the composition a strong sense of direction. At the bottom, ‘BUY WAR BONDS’ and ‘3rd War Loan’ appear in bold block letters. The combination of figurative illustration, muted colours and striking typography gives the piece a distinctive vintage character. A striking accent for an office or hallway with mid-century furnishings.
