North Coast Limited in the Mountains

The dark steam locomotive forms the powerful centrepiece of this composition. Rails run diagonally across the foreground, while towering rock faces, conifers and wisps of steam fill the landscape. Large blue lettering at the bottom reads ‘North Coast Limited in the Montana Rockies’, beside the circular Northern Pacific logo. The combination of painterly detail and clear lettering gives this piece the look of a classic travel poster. An atmospheric accent for a living room, study or hallway, especially alongside dark wood tones in a mid-century or old-money interior.
