We Are Sons of Old Columbia

The title ‘We Are Sons of Old Columbia’ appears in large, dark letters at the top of this illustrated sheet music cover. On the left stands a woman in a long robe, holding a sword and a shield with stars and stripes. On the right, a long line of soldiers carrying an American flag crosses a rolling landscape beneath large clouds. The limited palette of blue, red and cream, fine hatching and visible signs of ageing define its vintage appearance. The combination of sheet music typography and military symbolism makes this a distinctive image for a study, hallway or traditionally furnished living room.
